Gisborne to Mahia is via New Zealand's State Highway 2 south. It is a scenic drive of approx 1 hour through forested hill country with views back to Gisborne along the way. Follow the signs from Nuhaka roundabout to the coast and on to Opoutama Village (11km). To get to Reomoana follow the Mahanga Road for 5km till you see Reomoana signposted on your left just before the turn-off to the Mahanga Beach village.
